Running over 7 weeks online, these one-hour sessions will explore trauma and brain development, practical strategies for complex behaviours, and relationship-based strategies for improving connections with your child. Run by Psychologist Phil Bird. This training will help you understand the latest neuroscience on how trauma impacts the nervous system and your child's emotional and behavioural world. In a supportive environment, you will learn new strategies to improve your connection with your child and respond effectively to their challenging needs and behaviours.
Transforming Teen Anxiety - POSTPONED
Weekly group session with Psychologist Allira Sazdanoff. This program will incorporate a range of modalities from CBT to interpersonal therapy, psycho-education, and yoga-based concepts. Within this supportive environment your teenager will be able to explore anxiety issues and have a little fun at the same time!
The Art of Chill-Axing POSTPONED
Join The Hummingbird Centre's Occupational Therapist Leah Gencheff in this fun interactive 8-week group therapy program where we will practice mindfulness, yoga, and breathing techniques. 11-13 year olds.
Dissociative Disorders Group
The Hummingbird Centre Director Alikki Russell will run a small 11 week group titled Coping with Trauma-Related Dissociation - Skills Training. This group will focus on safety and stabilisation strategies for managing dissociative disorders, and cover psychoeducation and skills development at an introductory level. Opportunity for other groups that focus more on intermediate and advanced skills development will be offered in the future.
