Effective, Outcome-Driven Psychological Treatment for Injured Workers

November 20, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm AEDT

November 20 @ 1:00 pm 5:00 pm

Working with clients in the NSW SIRA Workers Compensation Scheme isn’t like standard clinical practice.

Psychologists and Mental Health Practitioners often need to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders – the client, the employer, the insurer, the GP, and the rehab provider. At times, these competing demands can feel complex, frustrating, and even at odds with best clinical care.

This workshop is designed to help you cut through the complexity.
You’ll learn how to deliver evidence-based, outcome-driven treatment that improves recovery at work, while confidently navigating the unique challenges of the workers’ compensation system.

With a mix of clinical updates, legislative insights, and case-based discussions, this session will give you the knowledge and tools to feel more effective in this space — and less stuck in the system. Participants will also have the chance to workshop real-life challenges and refine interventions in a collaborative learning environment.

Why attend?

– Understand how recent SIRA scheme changes impact your practice
– Learn strategies to manage the competing demands of multiple stakeholders
– Explore the role of prevention, early intervention, and the psychological benefits of good work
– Gain confidence using therapy modalities and frameworks that maximise recovery outcomes
– Build skills in writing and evaluating SMART Goals and AHTRs
– Expand your “toolbox” of strategies to overcome both system and clinical barriers
– Workshop your own tricky cases with peers and receive practical, tailored feedback
