The Hummingbird Centre provides Assessment and Treatment services to people who self-refer, or are referred by other Medical or Allied Health Professionals or organisations.
You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate if you have a suitable referral through your GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician (please contact us to discuss this further) or if you have Private Health Insurance (please contact your Private Health Insurer to discuss this further).

The Hummingbird Centre has four welcoming psychology clinics across the Hunter region – Newcastle West, Broadmeadow, Warners Bay, and East Maitland – offering therapy, counselling, and psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. For those outside the area, or who prefer the comfort of home, we also provide secure and confidential online therapy across Australia, making professional mental health care more accessible than ever.

There’s free on-street timed parking, and families are very welcome: you’ll find a private unisex bathroom, baby change facilities and a kids’ activity table. Please note there are a few small steps at the entrance, so do let us know if you’d like a hand.
Our Maitland rooms are 100% accessible with a free private car park, an accessible shared unisex bathroom and baby change facilities, making them an easy choice for families with prams.
Paid on-street parking is available nearby, and prams are welcome with just a tiny step at the entrance (a ramp can be set up on request). Inside there’s a private unisex bathroom and a kids’ activity table to keep little ones happy.
