April is a Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years’ experience, and extensive experience in the public mental health service. April primarily works with adolescents and young adults.
April supports people who are experiencing a range of challenges, including mental health difficulties, trauma, emotional regulation concerns, substance use, and ADHD. She also collaborates closely with families to support relational and systemic wellbeing. April is strengths-based, and at the heart of her work is a belief in fostering self-compassion and acceptance to support healing and growth.
April emphasises creating a safe and supportive environment to help people explore their difficulties, build resilience, and achieve meaningful goals. She is skilled in evidence-based psychological treatments including attachment-based therapies, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and other trauma-informed interventions.
April is also a board-approved supervisor who can supervise registered psychologists, clinical psychology registrars and provisional psychologists.
