Caitlin is a Clinical Psychology Registrar who completed her Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Newcastle. A Newcastle local, Caitlin has always lived and worked on the lands of the Awabakal and Worimi peoples.
Underlying Caitlin’s practice is a commitment to affirming and validating the emotional experiences of others, honouring the client’s authenticity, acknowledging existing strengths, and promoting self-compassion. To facilitate this, she prioritises fostering a safe, collaborative, and non-judgemental therapeutic space where clients feel respected and understood.
Prior to completing post-graduate study, Caitlin worked in various roles in out of home care and youth homelessness services. These experiences helped inform the intersectional, social justice framework she now endeavours to adopt in her current practice.
Caitlin has experience using cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic interpersonal therapy (PIT) with adults and adolescents. Caitlin is particularly passionate about supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community and neurodivergent folk.
Outside of work, Caitlin tries to balance out the concerning number of hours she spends playing computer role-playing games by walking her greyhound, spending time in nature, and making art.
